BMX traveled to Calgary this weekend to attend the Alberta BMX
Provincial Series #2 race held June 8, co-hosted by Calgary BMX and
Okotoks BMX Despite the rain, wind and cold, a successful race was
held with 396 riders in attendance. The Red Deer results are as
follows;

At the 17th Annual Red Deer Community Sports Banquet, held February 24, 2008 Chris Johnston was nominated to receive the Sport Volunteer Award of Merit, for her contribution to the Red Deer BMX Association. For the last few years, Chris has held the position as head track operator and has taken on many other responsibilities on the executive and various committees. She has never thought twice about stepping into a vacant position if it meant helping to keep the kids racing. She has become a mentor to many members and always exudes a "we can do it" attitude. As her family matures and pursues other interests we realize that her departure one day will leave a large gap to fill. For her time, effort, leadership and dedication, the Red Deer BMX Association takes pride to select Chris for this award.
Another BMX season has begun with Western National Cup Series race #1 & #2 on March 22nd & 23rd/08, held at the Goodstoney Rodeo Center in Morley Alberta. With 263 registered entries.
